Catherine Flippence

Catherine Flippence is a talented English fine artist, portrait painter and sculptor. Intuitively specialising in tonalism, her small jewel like paintings evoke a sense of tranquillity and mystery through the subtle play of light and shadow. Drawing inspiration from the natural world, Catherine skilfully uses a limited colour palette to create atmospheric scenes. Her mastery of tonal values produces paintings of timeless quality, capturing the essence of the landscape in a unique way.

Catherine studied fine art at the Royal Academy and Goldsmiths College in London, her artwork has been extensively exhibited and sold throughout the United Kingdom. Catherine now lives in the middle of the beautiful Wiltshire countryside, working from her studio near Stonehenge.

In addition to landscapes, Catherine also creates unique commissioned portraits. Her keen observation allows her to capture the sitter’s personality and spirit in the finished painting. The depth and emotion conveyed in her portraits of people and animals resonate with the viewer, creating a powerful connection between the artwork and the observer.

Through her art, she invites viewers to pause, contemplate, and connect with the beauty of the natural world.
