Monica Garcia Ricardo, born and raised in Havana, Cuba, is a self-taught artist. She started painting in 2018 after sensing a need of expressing her emotions and feelings. Her work is mostly abstract, with a preference for large format canvases, texture, layers, less possible use of brushes, and a desire of experimenting with different techniques, tools, and materials. Monica is also interested in interdisciplinary collaborations with other artists.

Monica has been traveling around the world since an early age, she has lived between Cuba, Europe, Asia, South America and since 2015 is based in Dubai, UAE. Monica is fluent in Spanish, English, Italian, Russian and French, and has extensively traveled to more than 50 countries. She has always been very easily adapted to embrace diversity and multi-cultural environments. Next for Monica is her desire of evolving, keep growing, and exploring her inner world to be expressed through her art. She dreams of a big studio where she would be able to make large size artworks.
