Ana Laserna, born and raised in Spain. She studied Social Education at the university in Madrid. When she was 24 year old she moved to India for three years, where she learnt different ways to see the world, yoga and complementary therapies. She got married and went back to Spain in 2000. Since then, she has been living between Spain and India. She made her first mosaic work at age 22 and has been self-taught till 2011 when she went to Ravenna, Italy to learn the ancient mosaic techniques and the most modern ones with the mosaic masters and has come back there ( Ravenna 2015, Piacenza, 2019) to continue studying and refining her technique. She moved to Dubai in 2018 where she lives and works as a full time artist. Ana Laserna’s works are rich in light, texture, volume and colour. They tell stories with glass, marble, stones, in the ancient technique of mosaic reinterpreted from a contemporary perspective.
