JASSIM AL-AWADHI
Jassim Rabia Al-Awadhi, is an Emirati artist from the UAE. Jassim holds a Master of Arts in Photography from the Nottingham Trent University in the UK and a Bachelor’s in Photography from the University of Dayton, United States. With over three decades of professional experience under his belt, serving as director of the Crime Scene Department for the Dubai Police, he has also been associate professor of Photography for the University of Sharjah. Serving as Chairman for the Emirates Photography Association and as the Founder of the UAE Photography club, his solo exhibitions titled “Unborn Identity” and “Journey” were in collaboration with the Sharjah Art Museum (2005 & 2007). For over five years, “Annual Exhibition” was featured by Dar Ibn AlHaitham. Since 1996, his exhibitions have been reputed across the MENA region. As a winner of multiple photography awards and certifications, in 2002, Jassim received the First Class Badge of Honour for Excellence in Service. Jassim is currently a member of the judging committee for the H.H. Sheikh Hamden Bin al Makhtoum Photography award ( HIPA). Jassim's current projects include researching locations in the UAE away from cities to convert to Galleries and seasonal workshops.
